This week, DeDe Forwood Realtor’s Phoenix hot spot is Welcome Diner! You KNOW where I went for National Mac & Cheese Day!

Walk into this place and you are greeted by a giant disco ball shining over the host stand. Staff is super friendly and dressed in vintage clothing. I love the decor and mix and match picnic tables and chairs outside. I love the plant stands and vintage vibe throughout.

I love this place so much because I never know what to order, so I just order the special (and half the rest of the menu!). The fried chicken is unbelievable. Poutine is HUGE! The specialty cocktails are interesting and…STRONG! The non-alcoholic drinks are so good. Try the lemonades!

The service is solid. Upon arrival, you will be greeted and welcomed. The place is situated squarely in the Garfield neighborhood and the staff is “hipsterish”. Everyone who checks in on you has a smile and seems genuine and not fake nice. They’re authentic. That is so underrated these days.

Welcome Diner is located at 929 E Pierce St in the Garfield historic neighborhood. Hours are 5pm-2am M-F and 10-3 (because…donuts), then 5pm-2am Sat and Sun. There’s also a Tuscon location if you’re down there.

Most of the seating is outdoors (pet-friendly patio), a few booths/tables inside and the counter/bar.
